01 Electrical Journeyman

Job Overview: The 01 Electrical Journeyman is responsible for executing a wide range of commercial electrical tasks while ensuring compliance with state, local, job site, and company safety regulations. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Reporting To: Electrical Foreman

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Compensation: $42-$45 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Perform electrical installations and maintenance safely and efficiently.
  2. Install electrical systems including wiring, conduits, transformers, lighting, switches, breakers, meters, and switchgear.
  3. Ensure all electrical work complies with local codes and standards.
  4. Read, understand, and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
  5. Assist in training and mentoring Electrical Trainees.
  6. Submit material requests to the Electrical Foreman or Purchasing Agent as needed.
  7. Conduct weekly safety inspections and additional inspections when tasks change.
  8. Complete and submit accident reports to the Safety Department, HR, and Electrical Foreman.
  9. Receive and inventory materials.

01 Electrical Foreman

Job Overview: The Electrical Foreman is responsible for ensuring adherence to all state, local, job site, and company regulations. This role involves leading morning meetings, planning, supervising, and executing all phases of commercial electrical work. Clear communication with the crew and office, material procurement, and field time approval for the crew are essential duties. The Foreman will collaborate closely with Superintendents and Project Managers to manage hours and job costs effectively.

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Compensation: $45-$48 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)

  5. Oversee and train Electrical Trainees.
  6. Submit material requests to the Purchasing Agent.
  7. Conduct weekly safety inspections and additional inspections when tasks change.
  8. Complete and submit accident reports to the Safety Department, HR, and Superintendent.
  9. Receive and inventory materials.
  10. Accurately record time and daily activities in Raken, ensuring resources are allocated to the correct projects and tasks.

Commercial Project Manager

Since our inception in 1973, Bird Electric Corp. has established a reputation for excellence. We are currently seeking a talented and motivated individual to join us as a Commercial Project Manager. This full-time position (40 hours per week) offers a salary range of $90k-$110k, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, sick leave, and paid holidays.

 

Key Responsibilities 

Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of commercial electrical contracting projects from beginning to completion.

Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and overall project delivery.

Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.

Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Team Coordination: Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment and efficient workflow.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects adhere to safety regulations, codes, and standards.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.

Problem Solving: Identify and resolve project-related issues promptly to avoid delays and cost overruns.

Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure all work meets Bird Electric Corp’s high standards.

Progress Reporting:  Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, performance metrics, and any changes to scope or budget.

Bid Preparation: Assist in the preparation of project bids, including cost estimation and resource planning.

Resource Allocation: Manage resources effectively, ensuring the right personnel and materials are in place for each project phase.

Technical Support: Offer technical guidance and support to project teams as needed.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to improve project delivery.

 

Position Qualifications

Experience in the construction or electrical contracting industry

Proven track record in project management

Strong understanding of electrical systems and commercial construction practices

Excellent organizational and leadership skills

Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office or equivalent.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety
